The ritual of Kalash Sthapana and worship of Maa Durga at the start of Navratri, in the auspicious muhurat with a pandit ji. Duration is about 1.5 hours. Dakshina / Service charge: Starting from ₹3,500 (pandit ji included). The cost of puja samagri may be separate; this will be clearly explained at the time of booking. What is this puja On the first day of Navratri, a kalash is installed at a sacred spot and Maa Durga is invoked. In many homes it is also a tradition to sow barley and light an Akhand Jyoti. It is regarded as the beginning of nine days of devotion and self-discipline. Usual samagri required • Earthen pot and barley seeds • Kalash, mango leaves and coconut • Red chunri • Idol or picture of Maa Durga • Roli, mauli and akshat • Flowers and flower garlands • Incense, lamp and ghee The full samagri list will be finalised after consulting the pandit ji. Auspicious date / muhurat The auspicious muhurat for Kalash Sthapana is fixed on Pratipada of Navratri according to the panchang; the pandit ji will tell you the right time.

Sankalp is taken and Ganpati puja is performed.

Barley is sown in an earthen pot at a sacred spot.

The kalash is filled with water and installed with mango leaves, a coconut and a chunri.

Maa Durga is invoked and worshipped.

A lamp is lit; many homes keep the tradition of Akhand Jyoti.
