The cost of puja samagri may be separate; this will be clearly explained at the time of booking. What is this puja The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is a well-known mantra dedicated to Lord Shiva. Devotees have it chanted as a prayer for health, peace of mind and long life. It involves sankalp, a fixed number of chants and Shiva puja. Usual samagri required • Shivling or picture of Lord Shiva • Gangajal, milk, curd, honey and ghee • Bel patra and flowers • Rudraksha mala • Bhasma and sandalwood • Havan samagri and samidha • Roli, mauli and akshat The full samagri list will be finalised after consulting the pandit ji. Auspicious date / muhurat Mondays and Maha Shivratri are considered auspicious; the muhurat is fixed with the pandit ji.

Process / Steps

Step 1

Sankalp is taken, followed by Ganpati and kalash puja.

Step 2

Lord Shiva is invoked and worshipped.

Step 3

4 pandit ji chant the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra 11,000 times.

Step 4

Havan is performed after the chanting. The method of havan and dashansh may vary slightly by tradition.

Step 5

After purnahuti, the aarti of Lord Shiva is performed.

Step 6

The ritual concludes with the distribution of prasad.
